Seven…
Welcome to a good time, 24/7 it’s a killer ride and we go on and on and on,
We do what we do and and yeah we got nothing to lose…”
When I first heard Seven, the new Viv and the Revival album, I spent an embarrassing amount of time dancing around the kitchen. The rumors of my air-drumming along with Rocket to Mars are vastly exaggerated but still understandable because the track has such awesome drums.
The guys cover a lot of musical ground with this album. Welcome to a Good Time is a party song with a hip-hop vibe while Only Love and Taxi Man carry a cool techno beat. What Are We Waiting For sounds like the encore song from an 80′s arena rock concert (seriously, you will be hunting for a Bic) and Just Like a Dream is a soft, melodic ballad.
My favorite tracks are Fire, which I still want to use in one of those song-playing t-shirts, the already mentioned Rocket to Mars and the wonderful and funky So James Dean.
Bottom line, this is just a fun album. The band has turned out a more polished sound on Seven without losing the energy and passion I loved so much in their first release, And Then The World. Yes, you all need to buy this.
You can preview Seven on Soundcloud and preview/purchase it from Itunes, Amazon and other retailers. Check out the Viv and the Revival website for more videos, pictures, news and concert dates. You can follow the band on Twitter @vivpeyrat or like their Facebook page to get updates on your FB feed.

I have been trying to write the review for Blurred, by San Francisco singer/songwriter Alex Wise for a few months now but can’t seem to finish it. This is difficult for me to say but I get about halfway through the process and find myself so homesick I just can’t continue. The past few years have been full [...]
Now that Scooter is back sleeping nights I proclaim this ’dig myself out from under the mountain of un-reviewed music‘ week. Kicking off the week o’reviewing is Arc & Stones, the debut EP from Brooklyn band Arc & Stones. The guys are Dan Pellarin (vocals), Ben Cramer (guitar), Joe Doino (drums) and Eddy Bayes (bass). I had [...]
So, I was in the mood for some blues and whoosh – blues appeared. Other people get coupons, bills and news updates in the mail while I get blues music. Cool new blues music in the form of the debut release Telegraph Taboo from the Chicago-based band Nick and the Ovorols. This is not a pretty album. The vocals on a few tracks [...]

Viv,
Hey, I love your music and if I can help someone else discover it and love it too then I am a very happy camper.
