The Week in Music Blogs – June 16 to June 22, 2012

This is another short week as I have been on vacation and mostly without internet access.

Jaylen from the comments section (grin) shared a link to a free download of the new Joe Bonamassa single Driving Towards the Daylight.

Over on The Bowery Presents, A. Stein reviewed the Anders Osborne - June 21, 2012 Brooklyn Bowl concert.

Greg Victor from Parcbench reviewed Royal Southern Brotherhood and shared a cool vid of their track, New Horizon.

Autopsy IV tossed up a new podcast – Episode 26 of the Ninebullets Podcast – for download.

And that is pretty much it for this week. Oh yeah, the new Don Williams cd, And So It Goes, was a hit with the Dad-In-Law. He played it through twice on his way home from Gatlinburg.

As always, if you have a music post, review, vid etc from the week you would like me pop in the list just leave your addy in the comment section or drop me an email.

The Week in Music…Blogs – May 12 to May 18, 2012

So my coffeemaker DIED a horrible death yesterday and as @varnishgal so eloquently commented on Twitter - Yes, I was a resident of Suckville.

Yes, it looks like it’s leaning but I am too lazy busy to retake the photo.

However, after much inspecting of phone pics and email discussions the mighty Super-Kahuna picked a new coffeemaker up from the store right after work. And yes, after setting it up and running the water cycle-thing I did brew a pot and drink some.  Captain America approved this endeavor.

ATO Records is giving away a FREE Spring Sampler loaded with tracks from the Alabama Shakes, the White Rabbits, Lucero and many others.

Stewart Oksenhorn at the Aspen Times reviewed new releases from Theresa Andersson, Anders Osborne and Bill Frisell.

Chris from BrumNotes interviewed Jim Bob (Carter USM) about Jim’s new book, Driving Jarvis Ham, and his music.

Over on Adobe and Teardrops, Rachel reviewed The Life and Death of Warren Peacemaker by Scott Alan Simmons.

Justin Kantor from BC*blogcritics remembers Donna Summer.

On Ninebullets.net, AutopsyIV reviewed Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now by Justin Townes Earle.

The blog list is short this week as I have things to plant and a book review to finish. If I missed you and you have a music post you would like mentioned just drop a note in the comment section or send me a quick email and I’ll add you to the list.

  • Blurred…
    February 12, 2013 | 4:06 pm

I have been trying to write the review for Blurred, by San Francisco singer/songwriter Alex Wise for a few months now but can’t seem to finish it. This is difficult for me to say but I get about halfway through the process and find myself so homesick I just can’t continue. The past few years have been full [...]

  • Arc & Stones…
    February 11, 2013 | 4:53 am

Now that Scooter is back sleeping nights I proclaim this ’dig myself out from under the mountain of un-reviewed music‘ week. Kicking off the week o’reviewing is Arc & Stones, the debut EP from Brooklyn band Arc & Stones. The guys are Dan Pellarin (vocals), Ben Cramer (guitar), Joe Doino (drums) and Eddy Bayes (bass).  I had [...]

  • Telegraph Taboo…
    January 21, 2013 | 8:45 am

So, I was in the mood for some blues and whoosh – blues appeared. Other people get coupons, bills and news updates in the mail while I get blues music. Cool new blues music in the form of the debut release Telegraph Taboo from the Chicago-based band Nick and the Ovorols. This is not a pretty album. The vocals on a few tracks [...]
